PM Calls on Citizens, Party Members and Supporters to Register to Vote

PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister Hun Sen has called on the people and each party to urge their party members and supporters to register to vote in the upcoming General Elections in 2023.

The Prime Minister made this call at the graduation ceremony for more than 6,000 students of the Royal University of Law and Economics on Tuesday morning, 1 November.

"I call once again on people of all political persuasions go and register to vote... Don't say [that because you support a certain party you cannot vote], when you have not put your name in (registered) to vote."

From 20 October to 31 October 2022, more than 150,000 people registered to vote in the general elections. At the same time, more than 10,000 people came and corrected their identification data, and more than 40,000 people changed their voting commune.

The National Election Committee (NEC) has set 50 days from 20 October to 8 December 2022, including weekends, for citizens to inspect the voter list and register to vote.
